Adric is a transpersonal and integrative psychotherapist and counseling astrologer based in Adelaide.
His work bridges and integrates the three realms of ego, soul and spirit, towards personal and collective healing and the emergence of a new paradigm understanding of the nature of the cosmos which supports the full development of our potentials as human beings in relationship with self, other and world. Adric has extensive experience working in the mental health field as an adventure therapist with individuals and families with complex needs around substance abuse and addiction and has been part of the development and implementation of several successful outreach and residential programs. He has been navigating his own spiritual emergence process for over 15 years, exploring many maps of human development and experience across the spectrum of consciousness and continues to follow his own medicine path with psychedelics, plant medicines, breath work, ritual other practices. Adric’s work stems from a deep compassion for the many challenges that are so often a part of human life and an appreciation for the creative and adaptive responses that people enact to handle adversity throughout their lives. He firmly believes in the innate human capacity for change, healing and growth, no matter what one may have been through and that secure, authentic relationships, with self, other and world are the key to human flourishing. Dr. Traill Dowie is the Chair of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) Panel for Trauma Standards & Practice, he is also the Head of Faculty at Ikon Institute Australia, and is a practising psychotherapist, supervisor and public speaker.
Dr. Dowie’s academic life and public lectures cover a broad range of interdisciplinary topics that relate to the human condition; psychiatry, psychotherapy, trauma, continental philosophy, philosophy of mind, anthropology, health and wellbeing, and human optimisation.
He holds dual PhDs, receiving a PhD in Psychiatry from Monash University and a PhD in Philosophy from The University of Melbourne.
