Deb Treherne is the founder of Essentially Sacred, Death Doula and End of Life Consultant. With over 25 years experience working with people approaching the end of their life, Deb’s creativity, compassion and non-judgemental approach offer empowerment to the person approaching death and comfort to the family and friends surrounding them.

Often people struggle when they or a family member are faced with a diagnosis of a terminal illness or advised that death is imminent and can feel overwhelmed with the multitude of decisions they have to make. Deb’s work helps people organise and coordinate an end of life experience and offers non-clinical support for the person concerned and their family throughout the transition – from diagnosis or decline to after death care by developing a comprehensive plan which can make their transition easier – on themselves and their families so the focus is on having precious time together.

Family dynamics can sometimes be challenging, especially during the highly emotional time approaching the death of a family member or someone close to you – as a qualified Grief Counsellor, Deb is available for family conferences to manage the expectations of all involved and negotiate an outcome which keeps the focus on the person nearing end of life.  This allows the family to concentrate on having quality time with the dying person whilst knowing that all non-clinical aspects have been addressed.

Throughout her life, Sarah experienced visitations and sensations that were outside of normal human experience. This gave her a unique world view on life – death and dying and beyond. Accepting this unique ability has led her to recognise her innate capacity to deal with the death and dying process.

Death is an important part of life and is a journey to be honoured and celebrated. Sarah’s open and honest approach to death and dying provides comfort to those engaged with her as they approach their end of life, and also to their loved ones. She creates a healing and positive environment and provides comfort in the knowledge that their loved one has arrived at a place of calm and serenity for the next phase of their evolution – wherever it may take them.

As a Deathwalker, Sarah provides support and guidance by walking alongside those recently passed as they embark on their sacred journey. She creates a soothing, safe space to assist the soul’s transition onto the next stage.

Sarah feels privileged to work in this space. She is passionate about alleviating and dispelling fears and anxieties surrounding death. Sarah supports the deceased and their loved ones through the calming transition from one point of existence to many.
